“EMA’s the best thing that ever happened to my career,” Sheila said. “For many years, my education had been an on again, off again (and mostly off again!) pursuit, but EMA’s Educational Assistance Program and my EMA supervisor’s encouragement and direction provided me with both the means and the motivation to make my long-time personal goal of completing my degree a reality.”

In May 2000, Sheila received her Bachelor’s degree in Management from University of Maryland University College and very quickly things began to change. Her educational accomplishments and hard work have enabled her to move beyond her original administrative duties to now provide project management services in direct support of her Navy client. In this capacity, Sheila provides all aspects of financial and project status tracking and documentation development support for radio communication systems-related projects and programs.

“The company’s foresight in developing such a worthwhile educational assistance program really reflects its long-term commitment to the growth and advancement of its employees,” Sheila said. “I am convinced that, had it not been for EMA’s support through this program, I may never have accomplished my educational or career goals...I really enjoy my job and am so excited to now have the opportunity to give something back to the company that has given me so much.”
