DoD Customized AIT Builder Scenario

Deployed military camps maintain a number of generators and air conditioning units that require regular maintenance and inspections. A customized AIT Builder solution can be used to maintain a digital Equipment Record Jacket (ERJ) for maintenance and equipment status data. Maintenance technicians would log each preventive maintenance (PM), inspection, or equipment fault as they happened. Web-based forms, such as:

could be completed using the handheld device or laptop computer. The data would be stored to a database and could also be saved directly to the equipment onto a contact memory button (CMB). All actions performed on the equipment are always available in the field or at the maintenance depot when the equipment is sent in for depot-level repairs or even deployed to future sites.

In addition to PM data, manufacturing, procurement, and acquisition data can be recorded directly on the equipment using a CMB making it readily available without having to track down the corresponding paperwork.
