Information at Your Fingertips

Do you need to manage and track large amounts of information? Do you need to keep track of maintenance records? Would you like to have access to your entire database not only in your office but also while you are out in the field? Are your paper-based files starting to take over your office space?

If you answered yes to any one of these questions, your organization would likely benefit from a form of automatic identification technology (AIT) called contact memory buttons (CMBs) used in conjunction with a customized database to manage the information you track. A customized solution is a substantial investment; that's why EMA has developed AIT Builder, a low-cost way for organizations to determine their needs and investigate the usefulness of CMBs for their organization.

Imagine, information where you need it, when you need it.

Here's how AIT Builder works:

  1. Load the software onto your desktop or laptop PC.
  2. Create the database in Microsoft Access.
  3. Define the tables for the database and define the fields for each table selected.
  4. Enter records into the database or copy data from an existing database.
  5. Save the record. That record can now be written to a CMB using a probe connected to the PC.

For ease of use in the field, the database can also be exported to a handheld device, allowing you to read and edit the records on CMBs directly from the handheld PC. The updated records can be imported back into the desktop or laptop PC, making the updated records available to everyone who uses the database.
