What is AIT Builder?
AIT Builder is a software package that lets you build simple databases to store and maintain records on contact memory buttons (CMBs). AIT Builder is a fast and inexpensive way to determine whether CMBs will benefit your organization. A customized application can cost tens of thousands of dollars and require weeks and possibly months of planning and development. AIT Builder, on the other hand, allows you to build simple databases relevant to your environment within a matter of hours and, based on the needs of your organization, determine whether a CMB system is right for you. If your organization needs a simple database, AIT Builder itself may even be the solution.

Who is AIT Builder for?
AIT Builder is for any organization that manages large amounts of information and records. Uses exist in maintenance, warehousing, and manufacturing, to name just a few. Organizations of any size can use AIT Builder: larger organizations will find it helpful as a proof-of-concept application to justify investing in an enterprise-wide custom solution, and smaller organizations may find that AIT Builder itself is enough to meet their current needs. We can help you determine your organization's needs and implement a solution scaled to the size of your operation — no project is too large or too small. Want to see AIT Builder in action? What are Contact Memory Buttons (CMBs)?
AIT Builder allows you to read and write to CMBs, which are rugged, battery-free devices that range in size from about 7.5 mm to just over 1 inch in diameter. Physically attached to machines or other items, CMBs are used to store data about the items to which they are attached. Using a probe, which is connected to a desktop, laptop, or handheld PC, the user reads and writes data to the CMB. The central database can be updated using the information from the CMB and vice versa.

What knowledge is needed to use AIT Builder?
Only a basic knowledge is needed to use the application. For example, you should understand basic database concepts, such as how a table is created in Microsoft Access. AIT Builder is user friendly and has an easy-to-use interface.

What are the system requirements?
The minimum requirements are:

Why was AIT Builder developed?
Development of AIT Builder was driven by the need to demonstrate to customers how they could use CMBs in their business environment. Using AIT Builder, customers can try out the technology before buying a customized application. Databases built with AIT Builder are simple; a customized application can support complex databases with advanced features and multiple users and sites.
